Walt Disney transformed entertainment forever when he revealed Disneyland on July 17, 1955. His visionary spirit continues to inspire millions and push innovation across Disney Parks today.

At Destination D23’s “Creating the Happiest Place on Earth” panel, Walt Disney Imagineer Chris Beatty announced that a new Audio-Animatronics figure of Walt Disney will soon appear in "Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress" at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort.

Kirsten Komoroske, Executive Director of the Walt Disney Family Museum, praised the collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering. She emphasized that the new Audio-Animatronics figure celebrates Walt’s story and inspires new generations through his innovations and vision.

The Carousel of Progress, Walt’s own creation, debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair and has become one of the longest-running stage shows in American history. It has been a staple at Magic Kingdom since 1975.

The attraction follows an American family through four generations, showcasing technological advancements and innovation. The upcoming update will introduce a new opening scene featuring Walt Disney himself inspiring guests with his message about progress.

While details about the family members’ new stories remain under wraps, Disney Imagineers promise to honor the attraction’s heart while introducing it to a new generation, showing that tomorrow’s possibilities are just a dream away.

Fans can anticipate the arrival of the new Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure and follow updates from the ongoing Destination D23 event, highlighting what’s next for Disney Parks worldwide.
