Letters from Lakeshore: Updates on Disney World’s Newest Resort

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is a new nature-inspired resort opening summer 2027 at Walt Disney World Resort on the south shores of Bay Lake. It celebrates the beauty and magic of nature through Disney storytelling and offers immersive experiences for families and friends.

The lobby welcomes guests with spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing sweeping views of The Wetlands outdoor recreation area. Inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios' Pocahontas, a fiberoptic river illuminates the floor while a blown glass 'Colors of the Wind' sculpture with hundreds of glass leaves adds dynamic color and movement. Natural materials and custom tapestries reflect the surrounding landscapes.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will feature three distinct dining venues. Moonglade offers a table-service experience with stunning water views and seasonal, locally sourced dishes. Bay Lake Provisions serves specialty coffees and fresh fare in an open-kitchen atmosphere, perfect for quick-service dining. Paint Out Point Bar & Grill offers shareable bites and drinks near Lakeshore Lagoon, inspired by plein-air painting with original artwork by Imagineers.

Dandelion Terrace is a lounge where guests can gather in the evening to watch Magic Kingdom Park fireworks over Bay Lake. The space includes a two-story gallery of archival Disney artwork and whimsical dandelion light fixtures, creating a magical atmosphere.

Beyond the lobby is The Wetlands, a large outdoor recreation area designed for fun and relaxation amid the beauty of Bay Lake. Inspired by the song 'Colors of the Wind' from Pocahontas, it features Heron Shores, an imaginative dry and wet playground, Otter Springs with interactive water features for children, and Daydream River, a lazy river offering a peaceful float through the landscape.

At the heart of The Wetlands is Lakeshore Lagoon, a zero-entry feature pool with a spiral waterslide for all ages to enjoy. On the resort's opposite side, Cypress Point offers a leisure pool and whirlpool spa with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks. The area is filled with informative plaques about local flora, fauna, and history, including a tribute to a historic attraction that once stood there.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will offer 967 thoughtfully designed rooms including cozy studios, spacious suites, and new one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses along the waterfront. Many rooms will feature beautiful views of Bay Lake and spectacular Magic Kingdom fireworks.
